The National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), New Delhi has communicated the directions of His Lordship, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Ranjan Gogoi, Judge, Supreme Court of India & Executive Chairman, National Legal Services Authority that State Legal Services Authorities (SLSAs) should undertake outreach programmes in a big way so that, the message of availability of legal services to the marginalized sections reaches maximum number of entitled categories of such persons.
The Legal Literacy Clubs to start at followings Schools identified by Nodal Officer for “Legal Literacy Clubs i.e. Deputy Director (Elementary School) to start LLC in U.T. of Puducherry. The objective of the clubs, is therefore, to legally empower them making aware about their rights and duties and encouraging them to make others also aware of the same
On 21.03.2018 this Authority in association with Education Departments of Government of Puducherry opened 10 Legal Literacy Clubs in the Puducherry and other regions of U.T of Puducherry. The function was presided by Hon’ble Thiru Justice Huluvadi G. Ramesh, Judge, High Court of Madras & Executive Chairman, Union Territory of Puducherry Legal Services Authority.
